I have PTSD when it comes dentists. Anxiety takes over all because other places I have been to have made me feel some type of way because of how bad my teeth are. Never pleasant, very short with me, and just very bad bedside manners. This place was absolutely AMAZING! From the receptionist to the dental assistant, to the Dr! They made me feel so comfortable, and actually took the time to explain to me everything. They were very warm, compassionate, caring and empathetic. I’m so blessed and grateful I have found them.

It seems that dental offices would see a wide variety of personalities, and make whatever accommodations. Some actually do, but not West Short Family Dentistry. I’d have to rate this place in the negatives. It's amazing how many really bad ratings this dental practice has, and my experience with them had been good - until last month, when they called me to cancel a cleaning "because the hygienist would be out that day." And they would call me to make another appointment later. Which was, of course, a lie. And which initially did seem like a lie. But I wanted to trust them. After receiving no calls, I called them, and they said they wouldn't service me any more because they said I "touched" one of their hygienists. On her smock. Which seems silly. 2 years earlier. I bet the people who own this place have no idea that their minions are cancelling patients for such nonsensical reasons. And who should be fired! SO SILLY - even if it were true - that it makes me wonder about where we're going as a society. Of course I never “touched” any of their hygienists, or other employees, in any way. And I had been there a few times since the alleged “touching.” Not letting the matter rest - with that lie now part of my medical record - I called them again, this time getting a different story, with the receptionist (or some other lackey) saying I had "touched" the name tag of a hygienist while saying "she's not Sheila" (or whoever it was I was scheduled to see). And that they will therefore not provide me any more dental services. No siree bobby! They didn't even suggest that it was sexual, or threatening. There were none of the usual "-isms" thrown about. So you know it was something REAL SILLY! Even if it was true. But it was not true. Even if true, not something that would get you dismissed as a long-standing patient. Unless of course it turns out the entire staff is neurotic, and West Shore Family Dentistry is a "Neurotic Company" with nothing but a bunch of ninnies running around. So like another commenter posted, this place needs to be shut down.

I had a very unpleasant experience with this dental office. I had previously made an appointment for 8:30am, and as I was on my way to the office, they canceled last minute. I was understanding of this situation so I rescheduled my appointment. However, the second time, they canceled at 10am for a 3:30pm appointment. I tried calling them to understand their situation and why they kept canceling my appointments. But the staff member I was speaking to was incredibly rude to me. She refused to listen to my issues with the cancelations and asked me “Do you want to reschedule,” in a very condescending tone. I would not recommend this place if you are a person of color or anyone who doesn’t want to support an unprofessional business.

I can't say enough for this dentist, I have nothing bad experiences with dental place after dental place, I was recommended to go here instead, it was a great choice. I really appreciate these guys, if I have a major problem with my teeth, I call, they get me an appointment as soon as possible, they work with you. The dentist is a major sweetheart. He recommends what to do or what should be done, knowing I have bad anxiety with dentist he makes sure I'm ok not to over worked about the dental work, I highly highly recommend this place!!
