My family has been with this practice for a couple of years now. Fortunately we have not needed any really “invasive” procedures. We have had just basic cleanings and check ups with nothing out of the ordinary until recently. My teenage son was scheduled for his regular cleaning and checkup one day over winter break. My husband made sure he was up before he left for work. Unfortunately my son got dressed and ended up falling asleep on the couch, thus missing his appointment. I received a call at work that I owed them $50 for him not showing up. I am not disputing the fact they charge a fee for not showing up, however I strongly feel $50 is too high for a first “offense” by a regular patient. Perhaps if you are a new patient or even a 2nd or 3rd time missing your appointment the fee should be higher. As a compliant regular patient for several years I expect to be treated a bit more fairly. We have left this practice and would never recommend any friends or family ever go here. The last cleaning and check up were questionable at best.... hygienist did not even check my gums. This alone causes me to question her competence. The front office staff tend to be lacking in much needed interpersonal skills as well. Dr Tabor himself is very personable however this itself does not compensate for any of the aforementioned.

Professional Run Family Practice
I was looking up Dr. Tabor's street address for a friend and was a little taken aback at the negative reviews. Having been his patient for almost 17 years, with close to 40 personal visits, I thought I could share my positive experience and his excellent bedside manner.
Dr. Tabor and my family started out as hi-hello neighbors when he walked his dog in our apartment complex. We learned that he was a new dentist and since we were looking for a dentist (having recently relocated from the west coast) and we liked his demeanor/sense of humor, we decided to give him a try...and we have not looked back since! He has been a wonderful doctor to my family as well as to the friends whom we have referred. In these 17 years, none of our friends have complained about any aspect of their interactions with him or the staff, and definitely no complaints on his skill or treatment. He has a good hand which ensures mostly pain-free treatment whether it is an injection or a simple gum probe.
I know policies like the late fee can be frustrating especially when you think it is a rare occurrence in such a long relationship, but without the policy, there would be nothing preventing me from cancelling last minute or making tentative appointments that would deprive someone else of that slot. I have had two incidents where the late fee came into play. I forgot the appointment even after confirming it 24 hours prior for which I did pay the late fee. The second time around I was under the weather with a cold and low grade fever, but still offered to come in. They rescheduled me without a fee even though it was an hour before my appointment.
I have never had issues getting an appointment when I needed one. A few weeks ago, I chipped my tooth and they accommodated me within 24 hours. The follow-up appointment to prep my tooth (for a crown) was made at my convenience in less than a week, and my crown is ready for implant in the promised three weeks. This is my third crown with the doctor and my others are doing just fine. One was implanted around ten years ago and the other about eight. I can't remember the specifics, but I do believe that there was a sliding scale for the replacement cost if the crown broke prematurely.
Among all the things I like about the practice, these are the two I appreciate the most, 1. Appointment promptness - they run a tight ship as I am always in the chair within five minutes of my appointment time, and, 2. No imprudent or excessive treatments. Even after my insistence, Dr. Tabor was ethical enough not to fill a cavity on my front tooth that dislodged every few months due to my bite.
Dr. Tabor, Kelly, Debra and Crystal are the frontline for the practice and they maintain a very familial ambience. This means that there are conversations outside of treatment and visits are not curt. Some people might not prefer this, and you can opt out with just the basic formalities. I personally like this aspect so that I don't feel like a stranger everytime I walk into the practice.
In my opinion, the doctor is trying to build long-term patients and he does this through good care, a professional service and trust. I have and will continue to recommend him to my family and friends.

My wife has been a patient of Dr.Tabor for 10+ years and she recommended that I go see him when I thought I had a basic chipped tooth. Turns out it was more significant than I thought. He said there were two options; one was a procedure that he could do but he advised against that option as it was expensive and did not make sense due to the location of the tooth. The other option / recommendation was to remove the tooth. Because of how badly the tooth was broken he recommended going to an oral surgeon. His gave me multiple referral options and once I made my choice his office called and set up the appointment and sent over my x-rays. I appreciated that he did not recommend an expensive procedure that would have helped his bottom line and instead recommended that another professional who specialized in this procedure do the work (the specialist was not associated with Dr. Tabor). Very pleasant staff as well.

Have had a number of different proceedures done by Dr.Tabor and staff......deep cleaning, extractions,
fillings, root canals, crowns and veneers.....I could not be more satisfied. Things were explained in detail. I knew what was going to be done, how it was going to be done, what to expect afterwards and the cost of the procedure before anything happened. I have recommended Dr. Tabor to friends and family. If you want a dentist and staff that is caring, gentle and competent you can not go wrong with Dr. Tabor.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Tabor for many years. He is always so upbeat and friendly and takes the time to answer any questions. I’ve never felt like I was going through a dental Jiffy Lube like I have at other dental offices. The televisions on the ceiling are a plus. :) . I would highly recommend him to anyone.
