VERY CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES! I love coming here. I get anxiety around dentists and teeth cleaning because my teeth used to be so sensitive but now after 2 years of coming here my teeth aren’t nearly as sensitive as what they used to be! Highly trusted service and beautiful views . Would recommend to everyone

Denae was so so good with my cleaning this morning! She listened to my concerns and provided a solution/remedy for my receding gums. She was incredibly thorough in her work which I very much appreciated. She’s also just super kind and down to earth. One of my best teeth cleaning experiences by far!

The entire team at Skyview Dentistry is so friendly and professional! What a breath of fresh air compared to other places I’ve gone to in Charlotte. The waiting room and exam rooms are immaculately clean with great views of Uptown. Going to the dentist does not make me nervous, but if it did, I would be even more comforted by the amenities they offer, including Netflix with headphones, a blanket, and the exam chairs have a massage option! I have already recommended this dental practice to multiple friends and I hope you have a great experience too!

My experience today was great - Maddie did a great job with my cleaning as well as answering any questions I had. Dr. Byrd made me feel comfortable and heard. At the end of my appointment Lauren helped with my checkout and she also was very helpful, friendly and attentive. All around, a great team today and great experience. I’m sure it’ll be nothing short of the same when I have to return in a few weeks.

I went to skyview to have a crown placed after a cavity I was previously unaware of caused my tooth to chip. I chose skyview because it claimed to be a “five star luxury experience soaked in calm, comfort, and ease.” Dear reader, skyview is to a luxury experience what a vibrating chair in the middle of the mall is to a massage at an upscale spa. There were no Bose noise canceling headphones. Which would be fine, but why claim it if it’s not true? There were some basic headphones connected to the TV which I put on to try to drown out some of the ridiculously loud music they had playing throughout the entire office. Unfortunately the music was so loud that I could still hear it. Additionally there are no individual rooms, just dividing walls closely packed in, so you can hear all the other people talking and drills whirling, which there were a lot of. Total sensory overload. Now for the dentistry. Dr. Byrd came over and looked at my X-rays and spoke to me about the plan for my crown, she was very friendly but I got the feeling she didn’t have time for me. Everything felt very rushed. She gave me numbing and left. After a little while Dr. D’silva came over and said she was going to take over, because Dr. Byrd was busy. She prepared my tooth, filing it down for the crown and removing the decayed material. She was pretty rough and the corner of my mouth was really sore after the numbing wore off from her stretching it so much. After that I waited for the machine to make my crown. Dr. D’silva came back and cemented the crown on my tooth without showing it to me first (which they were supposed to have done according to their own paperwork). She also filed down the crown and my own tooth above the crown which are both textured now bc they weren’t polished enough. If I had seen what the crown looked like I wouldn’t have let them put it on. I couldn’t believe it when I got in the car and saw what it looked like. It’s like a vague suggestion of a tooth that a kid made in art class. To add insult, there is no free parking as they claim on their website, so I had to pay $30 as I was there for three hours. After the appointment my tooth was getting more sore, not less. And I should add that before the appointment I wasn’t in pain. So I booked an appointment with another dentist. About half of the decay was still there on my tooth under the crown. She didn’t even remove all of the cavity before putting the crown on. My new dentist was very careful not to say for certain that skyview hadn’t removed all the decay (presumably for legal reasons) but he did show me on the X-rays I got done at skyview where the decay was before my crown was put on, and where it (still) is on my new X-rays. Skyview also didn’t take any X-rays after they put the crown on to make sure it was sealed to my tooth or that they had removed all of the decay. All in all, a horrible and upsetting experience, and dental work that I am now having to have corrected. The only good thing I have to say is that the staff were all very friendly. Please enjoy the photo. Edit: skyview emailed me and told me they performed an indirect pulp cap procedure to protect the nerve, that this can appear as decay on xrays, and asked me to edit my review with more accurate information. This procedure was not discussed with me at my appointment, and I still believe there was remaining decay after the procedure. Additionally, it is my understanding that in indirect pulp capping procedures, only partial removal of the cavity is performed, then the pulp cap is placed so the tooth may heal. It is my understanding from what I have read that this would be followed by a temporary filling, so that the tooth can be reassessed at a later date for success of the indirect pulp cap. None of this was discussed with me, and I was given a permanent crown, not a temporary. I believe informed consent is very important, and that providers should be thorough in explaining procedures before they occur. Oh, and they also said they haven’t advertised free parking on their website…
