I didn’t have a good experience here. The front desk staff were nice, easy appointment, location is very convenient if you live in the city. I went in for a routine cleaning, everything went well except when an Asian doctor came in, check my teeth in less than 5 seconds and said everything was good. It wasn’t the time she spent but it was how she did it, she was rough when she checked my mouth as if she didn’t want to be there or is having a bad day. I thought it was rude and disrespectful in a way how she handled me. Could have been more caring and gentle or just don’t do it and let me go after my cleaning. Did not go back after that visit and found another dentist.

Because of Rittenhouse Dentist, I actually look forward to going to the dentist. I never wait in the waiting room more than a minute, and if I do, the magazines are all up-to-date. They even have hot towels for your hands and face after your cleaning. All of the people who work there are just so kind and sweet. I truly recommend it and refer all my friends here.

I love everything about this office. The receptionists are pleasant and professional. The dental techs are proficient and knowledgeable. And Dr Balin is truly an expert in her practice. My dentist retired and I longed for a replacement and visited two other offices before stumbling on this jewel from a co-workers referral. I wish I could give 10 stars !

They provide good dental work, but they don’t have a billing department. They told me they were in network with my insurance even though the dentist they assigned me hadn’t been in network with my provider for over 5 years. It led to me experiencing a much larger liability; and was balanced billed with a single line description for 3 visits in a 8 month span.
I raised this concern with them months ago, no resolution or communication. They have no portal to view bills, and when they weee able to provide a line by line accounting, it didn’t line up with my EOBs, and they were billing me MORE than what my insurance said my overall liability was.
When I directly asked them to work with me and be accountable for their errors and poor workflows. I was ignored with no updates, until they asked me to confirm my next appointment and I told them I wouldn’t be having another appointment until they cleared up this mishap they solely caused. I then was ghosted, and sent an email telling me I was dismissed as a patient, again, no close of the loop regarding their balance bill and their errors within their claim submissions to my insurance, and their inability to keep up-to-date in network credentials with my insurance, again, who was the only dentist of 4-6 on the website who did NOT have an active credential with my insurance (it was lapsed)
Again, good dental work with what I got done, but you are being churned out like an oil change at jiffy lube. I had basic work done, I honestly can’t imagine getting major work done and it having much more complex billing codes. I suggest any current customer checks their bills from this dentist and ensured they are correct, because there is no due diligence being done by the office, given this experience of them allowing a dentist with a lapse credential to be assigned to my case for my 8-10 months of being a patient and after 3 visits. I would also suggest new patients ask for a bill before their next appointment, to avoid the practice allowing your liability to pile up.
Probably a good option for those who pay OOP.
Update: I take my two star review back and give them one. They have no professionalism, I received an email response from them after I asked them to address several inaccuracies to their last email (1. that my dentist was never in network with my insurance, that’s a lie they were in 2016, 2. That they only have one provider at the location I go to; thats a lie as they list 5 doctors on staff on their website and they submitted insurance claims for me under two different dentists, 3. That I had not given them adequate time when I emailed them over 45 days ago and my email went unanswered.)
When they realized they stated several inaccuracies over email, they sarcastically told me I should be a lawyer and that I was hyper fixating that they overcharged me $500+ for basic cleanings and scaling because they assigned me the one dentist not in network when I told them at onset that I wanted to go in network.
This place is ran by unprofessional medical professionals, who do not act in good faith when dealing with disagreements. They overbook their appointments, understaff their billing needs in relation to their clientele size, then ignore patient outreaches, discharging them when the patient escalates but still, no resolution or update on dates of service from September and October 2023 and January of 2024 ,which were billed incorrectly originally and balanced billed due to assigning me to the one dentist at their practice that was out of network. They don’t care about it being more expensive for the patient, they care about getting more $$$.
They are negligent at a minimum, frauds at the worst

I’ve been going to Rittenhouse Dentists for several years now and I have always had a wonderful experience. This is the only dentists office that I actually look forward to going to and that’s saying a lot because I do not like going to the dentist. Everyone is welcoming, the environment is pleasant and I always leave feeling happy and refreshed. Thank you RD.
