I have reported Lake Country Periodontics & Implant Dentistry to the Fraud Department of Insurance. And I'm going to report their cheating behavior to other authorities. Here is my experience: I contacted Lake Country because of a referral from my regular dentist. They were very enthusiastic with me becoming their customer/patient. They asked for my insurance information (both dental and medical) and contacts. A couple of days later, they called me saying that they contacted my insurances and checked my policies, saying that I had great insurance, and wanted me to schedule a meeting with them. I went to the meeting on August 2, 2023. They gave me an estimate form, where they already put the numbers in the blanks. The total amount was #2201, with $793 of insurance coverage, and $1408 that I had to pay out of my pocket. I had the surgery service on August 9, 2023 and paid my amount. A few days later, they sent me an invoice showing that the balance was the amount that they originally put as insurance coverage on the estimate form. I was shocked and felt cheated by these guys. I realized that they lied about my insurance coverage before the service so as to sell their service to me and then changed their face after the service asking me to pay the full amount. I called them about this, and they said that those were just estimates. This was not an issue of estimates. It was a cheating or fraud, a crime. They lied to me that the insurances would cover a significant amount of the cost but actually they did know that they do not. If it was an issue of estimate, how could the balance was exactly the amount that they put as insurance coverage on the estimate form, $793? I have had so many services from companies, for house improvement, medical surgeries, braces, and car repairs, etc. Not a single time, when the estimate turned out to be more than or less than $50. Learn a lesson from my experience with these guys. Avoid them.
Dr. Al-Bitar was great with my mom, she only speaks Spanish and he was able to get all information across clearly. His hygienist was great as well. She went into detail about cost and payment options. They made my mom feel comfortable which was great! They have very friendly staff. Definitely recommend!
