Highly recommend Dr. Burford! He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, down to earth, or as technical as the situation calls for. He seems genuinely caring; about pain, anxiety, making sure patient understands every step of the way, etc. The staff is always professional and courteous. The entire office and facilities are always clean and comfortable. Prices are reasonable. As great an experience as is possible at a dentist office!

When I first came here, I thought the receptionist was a little bit off. She could have been a little friendlier, but that I can deal with. Over time they don't like to answer the phone, return calls when I leave a message, or emails. What's the point of putting an email on the dentist card if they're not going to respond to it?
Things like an appointment canceled without me canceling it could have been a misunderstanding. So a few weeks later I called trying to get an appointment, because my child was having some kind of dental problem and was in a lot of pain. Her response was, "One dentist is out of town and the other won't be back for such and such days." This was a rude and uncaring response. She could have at least said, "Let me see the soonest we can get you in."
By the way, if both dentists were out of town, why was the place open and she was there answering the phone?
This was the final straw for me, and I'm switching to a different dentist. It's not the dentist that's the problem. It's the receptionists.

UPDATE: My family and I have spoke with Dr. Ray personally and he has assured us that we will not have to see that particular hygienist. He was profusely apologetic and we look forward to his continue exemplary care. He truly does care for his patients and I whole-heartedly recommend his services.
I am so torn writing this review as I’ve absolutely loved Dr. Ray and his staff up until this last visit. On 9/26 I went in for a regular cleaning. I religiously keep up with brushing, flossing, and rinsing two to three times a day. I don’t have any issues aside from needing a slight cleaning every 6 months. The hygienist on 9/26 was new (at least to me). My experience with her was absolutely horrible. Upon taking me back into the examination room she proceeded to man handle my mouth as if I had committed a crime against humanity. I expressed to her that I had autism and that the floss she was using was hurting my mouth profusely. I usually use waxed floss as my teeth are very close together. (She had previously inquired to if I had ever had braces, I have not, but most people assume I did) She then condescendingly stated “you don’t floss then because after two days you’d be used to this”. She continued to “clean” my teeth with what felt like her putting her entire weight into “flossing” my teeth. I had floss fibers stuck in between my teeth as a result. I had tears by the end of my visit. I felt humiliated and belittled. My mouth was bloody and extremely painful in a way I had never experienced with any dental visit. I tried to make small talk to save face and when Dr. Ray came in to check my teeth I was too afraid to say anything so I just gave a weak smile and stated said I was okay. I told him it must be my “Metformin” causing the inflammation. When I got home the right side of my cheek where my lips meet had a telltale sign of my visit (a slit in the corner that took a week to heal). I’m not good with confrontation so I called later that day (9/26) and tried to express my pains to the receptionist. She seemed too busy to really talk and quickly stated that she would put a note for me to have a different hygienist and that she would speak to Dr. Ray for me. I’ve never been afraid of the dentist but I have so much anxiety about the visit. I’ve been hesitant to write this but I feel almost as if she had some hidden issue with me I didn’t know about. I have had a few bad dreams about the experience and just wanted to alert other people that they have anxiety or sensory issues to please inquire before making an appointment. I had hoped that maybe the dentist would contact me but I’m not sure that he was given my message as the receptionist seemed so busy.
