How you treat your dental hygienists matters. The business model chosen requires a quick turnover for hygienists which means they do not have enough time to refine their skills. This is understandable due to the fact that they will be leaving this establishment after receiving their education. However, from my perspective, I see Dr Spann becoming easily irritable by the lack of refinement in her hygienists. If you want to have knowledgeable and experienced hygienists, hire them for long term. Creating and implementing the business model you have chosen requires you to have patience. It was difficult to stomach how she talks to and treats her staff. Ladies, you don’t have to allow her to treat you that way. There are many other avenues you can take that will not hinder your confidence or crush your spirit as you navigate your way through this industry. Maybe I am missing it completely, but from what I saw, if I were a hygienist, I would have walked out of the practice the second she snapped on me in front of a patient. Unfortunately, this didn’t just happen once- but several times during each appointment that I have had over the past years. My family and I are seeking dental treatment elsewhere. I hope you open your eyes soon, doctor. I will remove my review if I hear that you have made a difference in your attitude to these women. No one should need therapy from social trauma received in training. We all have many connections within these networks that aren’t known. People talk. Best wishes.

Don’t use this dentist. They expect you to allow your 3 year old to go to the back waiting room and get their check up alone. Their policy says no parents allowed in the back with their children. Do not recommend.

I was not even a patient yet. Having a bad experience with a different dentist, I took a chance and called with a toothache. She took me in the same day. She has a WONDERFUL bed-side manner, explains everything in detail and I was reassured I would be taken care of. I was referred to a specialist the following week for a root canal and came back to Dr. Spann who completed my crown. Thank you, Dr. Spann and Staff!

Dr. Spann is a well-mannered woman who treats all of her patients equally. She seems to care about her patients overall dental health and will be straightforward with you when discussing services and treatment.

My children had an appointment yesterday.
It was 96⁰ outside with a "feels like" temp of 106⁰. Per "office policy", parents were required to wait in the car while their children are being treated because "Covid is still out there". At that time, there was not one other person in the waiting area. Gas is $3.25 a gallon and I had to run my car for an hour becaise it was too hot to sit without the air running.
We go to work, school, church, camps, stores, restaurants, parties, gatherings, etc. Covid could be present in ALL of these places, but apparently more so at ONE specific dentist office, so you have to wait outside in 100⁰+ temps. Absolutely ridiculous. 😡😡😡
