First time doing braces with our kiddo and my husband and I are so happy that Vincent & Bullwinkel Orthodontics is taking care of us! The staff is amazing and works well with their patients and Dr. Cox is just as amazing. Summerville office is very clean and convenient to get to. 10/10 Recommended!

I chose Vincent & Bullwinkel Orthodontics because they came highly recommended. Unfortunately, the experience I had was very disappointing, to say the least. I completed Invisalign through another orthodontist but I moved out-of-state to SC before I could have my attachments removed and have a retainer made. This is why I made an appointment with V&B. I only needed the attachments removed and a retainer made. No other treatment. I called to schedule the appointment and ask questions regarding the fees and cost of a retainer, and the type of retainer that they offer (I wanted a clear retainer like my Invisalign aligners) since I don't have insurance and pay out of pocket for dental. I was informed that the total cost for a retainer was $395. When I came in for my appointment, I was asked to pay upfront before I was taken back to be seen. I had my attachments removed and impressions taken. When I went back to pick my retainer up, it was not an Invisalign brand (I made it known during each conversation that this was my preference) but I was assured that the clear retainers they make in-house are "very similar" to the Invisalign brand. While they are both made with a clear material, the retainer I received was nothing like Invisalign. It was poorly made, and didn't fit correctly so I went back to see if it could be remade. To make an already long story short, I've been to the office 5 separate times for appointments, trying to work with them to find a solution. Their only offer was to make a different type of retainer (one that goes across the palette) that I did not want. Or I could pay more for an Invisalign brand retainer (which is what I wanted in the first place). I've missed a lot of work as a contracted employee with no PTO trying to give them the opportunity to make it right. After a lot of frustration and 5 appointments later, I was told that I wouldn't be receiving a refund even though I don't have a usable product. Since the office staff never relayed that the fee just to be seen in the office of $1100+, I wouldn't be getting a refund for the retainer. This fee was never mentioned to me during any of the times that I was in and out of the office, or spoke to staff on the phone, or even when I initially made the appointment. The product I paid for and did not receive won't be refunded because I wasn't charged just to be seen. Hardly seems fair that their mistake now costs me $395 and no retainer. This process began in January 2023 and I kept getting appointments made to "check in" every few months which essentially felt like they were trying to buy time and hope that I would find an alternative solution. I never saw Dr. Bullwinkel in the office and never spoke to her directly. I've seen two different doctors (both male) and I was told that if my passive aligners work for now, I can just keep wearing them rather than having a new retainer made. Retainer issues aside, I always had my daughter with me during my appointments since she is homeschooled and they would always speak to her as if she were the patient. While this isn't a hug deal, it was a bit off-putting that they didn't take the time to read the charts to see who they were bringing back. I was also told that they didn't have access to my records or chart notes due to a system transfer, which seems to be a bigger issue. When I initially requested a refund at my last appointment, I was told that I would receive a phone call by the next week when Dr. Bullwinkel was in, and after 2.5 weeks I had to call back and follow up on this. We're now at the end of the year so this process has essentially taken 12 months with no acceptable resolution.

The Staff is amazing and extremely professional. The Doctors explain in detail, past, current and futures issues. I cant imagine my son going anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Always makes my kids feel comfortable in her office. Both my kids love going there. Very kid friendly atmosphere. I dont feel rushed, she takes time with each patient and explains everything she is doing to the kids. The staff friendly and welcoming.
